Wine Tasting
This year’s Martha Trust Wine Tasting on 29 June is once again being held in the spectacular grounds of Salutation House in Sandwich. |
|
| The Secret Gardens, as they are known, have been transformed in recent years and are now ranked as one of the most beautiful attractions in Kent. Guests will be able to explore the three and a half acres of dazzling blooms, rare plants and tranquil lake, while enjoying a range of remarkable wines from Hercules Wine Warehouse and some light refreshments. |

It’s 2012 and we’re laying down an Olympian challenge - Go Bonkers in Barcelona!
From 22 – 25 September 2012 we’re giving you just 3 days to drive from Dover to Barcelona in Spain to raise money for Martha Trust. |
|
| All the usual rules apply – you’ll need a car costing no more than £200 with tax, insurance and a valid MOT. We’ll organise your ferry crossing, 3 night accommodation and flight home and in return, we’re asking you to raise £1,500* by 31st August to help us transform the lives of people with profound disabilities. |
|
| *Including £400 deposit required by 30 June 2012 to secure your place. |

| Help Martha Trust become a Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year |

| Those wonderful people at Sainsbury’s are asking shoppers to vote for their Local Charity of the Year. Being nominated could mean a huge amount of support for Martha, not just in terms of donations but in many other ways like staff volunteering, gifts in kind and general awareness raising. |
|
| So if you’re anywhere near Deal or Hastings then please pick up a nomination form from one of our local Sainsbury’s stores between 9th May and 23rd May. It shouldn’t take long to complete but could make a real difference to our work and to the people we care for. |
|
| Becoming a Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year would also be a great way to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. So keep us in mind when you’re next out shopping and put in a good word for us with your friends and family - because every vote counts! |

Fashion Show
We’re hosting an evening of fundraising and glamour at St George’s Church, Deal on Thursday 22 March 2012. |
|
| You’ll be treated to canapés and a complimentary drink, a stunning catwalk show of the very latest high street fashion by Wardrobe Mistresses, and the chance to buy everything you see on the night at a fraction of the cost. |
|
| Tickets are just £10 in advance and £12 on the night and doors open at 6.45pm for the 7.30pm show. |

A Marathon for Martha
Martha Trust has been given its first ever allocated place in the London Marathon under the Silver Bond scheme. |
|
| Experienced runner and charity fundraiser Richard Horton will be running on our behalf and to kick start his campaign, Richard handed over a personal cheque to Martha for £200. |
|
| In addition to the Marathon, Richard has a number of events lined up over the next few months including the Spring Aquathon which is a swimming and running event, the Childrens Triathlon and the Half Marathon Relay. |

Sponsored Spin
On your bike!
Martha Trust’s Sponsored Spin has proved so successful that all places have now gone. |
|
| The marathon, two hour session is being held at the Fitness Mix Cycling Studio, Mill Hill, Deal on Saturday 3rd March from 11.30am-1.30pm. |
|
| Spinning is a high intensity workout and leading Kent fitness instructor, Abi Reynaert, along with three other instructors from The Fitness Mix in Deal, will be giving up their time for free to put people through their paces. |
|
| Among those taking part are our very own Kelly Hutchings, Carol Baalham and Alice Moir. The trio are so determined to raise as much sponsorship money as possible that they’ve set up their own Virgin Money Giving page > Please take a look and support their fabulous team effort! |

A Silver for Martha!

| Martha Trust has been given its first opportunity to enter a runner in next year’s Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 22 April. |
|
| The place is being offered under the Silver Bond Scheme and is only available once every five years – so we’re hoping to raise as much money as we possibly can come 2012. |
