Day-care centre
Our day-care centre at Deal helps young adults with profound disabilities that have just finished full-time education. Activities including music, games, arts and crafts, aromatherapy, massage, performance, themed weeks and parties. Day-care centre attendees have full use of all the facilities on site including the sensory rooms, garden and hydrotherapy pool.
Respite care
Parents, siblings and families who look after a profoundly disabled relative find the strain of providing constant attention overwhelming, and most families welcome a respite break.
People with profound disabilities also benefit from respite breaks, and our guests receive a warm welcome and the same loving care we give our long-term residents. Respite guests can use and enjoy all the facilities at our homes and we provide a programme of activities and therapies tailored to each individual’s needs.
Respite breaks vary in length from a single night to multiple weeks; however, because of the high demand for places we cannot help all the families who contact us. Currently, one respite care place at Deal helps up to 12 families a year and we hope to offer additional places at Hastings during the course of 2009.
