Respite Care |
Respite care is hugely important to an increasing number of families. Many families care for their profoundly disabled relatives 24 hours a day seven days a week. Over a period of time, the stresses of providing constant care can become apparent and most families welcome a break, or respite from their duties. |

| People with profound disabilities also benefit from respite breaks. Coming to Martha provides them with a chance to experience new things, make new friends, and become part of the wider Martha family. We offer the same loving care to our respite residents, taking care to make them feel welcome at Martha House. Respite users have full access to all of the facilities at Martha Trust including the hydropool, and also enjoy a programme structured around their individual needs. |

| At Martha we have one place dedicated to respite care, and help around 12 families every year. Respite breaks vary from a single night through to a number of nights on a weekly basis. |

| It is frustrating not to be able to meet all the requests for respite care which we receive. In the future Martha Trust hopes to fundraise to create additional facilities for respite care, and help a wider number of families. |
