Martha Trust respite care

Best of friends - Michael and his sister JennyAt Martha Trust we know how hard it is to care for and meet the needs of someone with profound disabilities. Our respite  services are designed to do just that, giving families a much-needed break from caring while their loved ones can enjoy some independence away from home.

At Martha Trust we make sure that everyone gets the most out their time with us. Our state-of-the-art facilities, tailored therapies and huge range of activities make every day challenging, stimulating and above all fun.

Our dedicated respite care place offers round-the-clock nursing care and a fully-equipped bedroom with access to a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom.

All our guests, whether they’re with us for a couple of days or a couple of weeks, benefit from the full range of therapies and activities available to all our residents.

For the profoundly disabled people who spend time with us, Martha Trust provides the space and the opportunity to grow.

  • We run games, music sessions, arts-and-crafts, sensory cooking, pamper sessions and gardening.
  • Our tailored programme of therapies includes physiotherapy, reflexology, massage and music therapy.
  • We have regular visits from Pat the Dog as well as live music, themed weeks and parties.
  • Our state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool is a great way to deliver physiotherapy, relax and have fun.
  • Days out can range from a trip to the shops to a visit to a show or concert.
  • And our sensory rooms can be stimulating and exciting or calm and relaxing.

For the profoundly disabled people who spend time with us, Martha Trust provides the space and the opportunity to grow.
