Martha Trust – transforming lives

At Martha Trust we make sure that the profoundly disabled people we care for enjoy as full and active a life as possible. We help them to achieve their potential and, where possible, their independence, and we respect their right to privacy, to choice and to dignity.

Martha Trust is a registered charity that provides residential and respite care for people with profound physical and multiple learning disabilities.

We combine the highest standards of round-the-clock nursing care with state-of-the-art facilities at our homes in Deal, Kent and Hastings, East Sussex.

We want to make sure that people with profound physical and multiple learning disabilities are given the very best opportunities to lead happy, active and fulfilling lives.

All three of our homes are bright, modern and purpose-built and offer the 38 young people and adults we care for a safe and stimulating home for life.

Our therapies are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of our residents and include reflexology, massage and physiotherapy.

And our hydrotherapy pools at Deal and Hastings come complete with high-tech sound and light systems for a complete sensory experience.

Alongside therapies we run a programme of activities including sensory cooking, arts-and-crafts and music and we run regular activities and days out like horse riding, bowling and trips to the cinema.

At Martha Trust, we encourage people to explore and understand the world around them. We inspire them to reach out and face new challenges and we help them to achieve their full potential.

Above all, we want to make sure that people with profound physical and multiple learning disabilities are given the very best opportunities to lead happy, active and fulfilling lives.
